From a young age Mathew Hershner grew up around vehicles. From Monster Jam to NHRA drag racing and even routine maintenance on vehicles his father made sure he knew his way around vehicles. This passion pushed him to learn more everyday about vehicles. Throughout his life he has done his own repairs on his vehicles and his friends vehicles.

In 2012 While on active duty in the United States Marine Corps, Mathew sustained a major trauma to his spine causing broken vertebrates, compressed discs and spinal cord damage, but he kept pushing through until he could not stand the pain anymore and had to have surgery. After 3 surgeries and being paralyzed 4 times due to his injuries he kept fighting to get back on his feet and building cars. Once he was back up on his feet and able to do work on vehicles again he opened a shop in NC and Florida and began his work. After several years as an all around performance and custom shop it was decided to move to Houston, Texas and open Night & Day Performance as a specialty shop to focus on just building performance vehicles.
